Using Dergh
How to Post

A Post may contain photos, GIFs, videos, links, and text.

  1. Type your post (up to 800 characters) into the What is new with you today? box at the top of your home timeline, or click the NEW POST button in the navigation bar.
  2. You can include photos, videos, emoticons, animated gifs and even a poll in your post.
  3. Click the PUBLISH button to post to your profile.
Adding Content to your Dergh

To post a photo, video of a GIF in a Post

  1. From the What is new with you today? box, click the photo icon to upload a photo.
  2. If you wish to upload a video, click the video icon to upload a video file.
  3. To search for and upload a GIF from the GIF library, click the search icon from your phone or computer.
  4. Click PUBLISH to post the content.

Create a Poll

  1. Click the create a new poll icon.
  2. Insert your first poll option into the Option - 1 box, and your second poll option into the Option - 2 box.
  3. Click ADD OPTION to add additional options to your poll.
  4. You can add up to 4 options for your poll.
  5. Click PUBLISH to post the poll.
Search and Hot Topics

Search

  1. Enter your search query into the search box at the top of the page.
  2. Click ADVANCED SEARCH to filter results by hash tags, people or posts.
  3. You can click the Search link in the navigation bar as well.

Hot Topics

  1. Click the Actual link in the navigation bar to access the Actual / Hot Topics section.
  2. There you will find a list with navigation on the most relevant topics and events, which will allow you to quickly find media content on the topics you need.
Following and Unfollowing

Following

  • Find a Post from the account you’d like to follow.
  • Click the username to go the user profile.
  • Click the FOLLOW button.

OR 

  • Check if the user you want to follow is in the "Who to Follow" box.
  • Click the FOLLOW button.

Unfollowing

  • Go to the user profile you want to unfollow.
  • Click the UNFOLLOW button.

OR 

  • Check if the user you want to unfollow is in the "Who to Follow" box.
  • Click the UNFOLLOW button.
Blocking

To block from a Post

  1. Click the icon located at the top of a Post from the account you wish to block.
  2. Click Block, and then select Block to confirm.

To block from a Profile

  1. Go to the profile page of the account you wish to block.
  2. Click the action arrow on their profile page.
  3. Select Block from the menu.
  4. Click Block to confirm.
Managing your Account
Login and Password

Use your account email address and password to log into Dergh.

  • If your password is not working, request a new password by clicking the FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD? link and entering your email address in our reset form.
  • You will receive a link to create a new password by email.
  • If our system cannot find your email address, you may be entering the wrong one.
Change Email / Password

If you are logged, you can change your email address or your password by clicking the PROFILE SETTINGS button.

You can find a Profile Settings link in the More menu in the navigation bar as well.

Please note that after changing the email address, the email address that you use during authorization will be replaced by a new one.

Customize your profile

  1. Sign in to Dergh.
  2. Go to your profile.
  3. Click the PROFILE SETTINGS button and you’ll be able to edit your:
    • Username
    • Email address
    • Website URL address
    • About You
    • Your Gender
    • User Password
    • Language and Country
    • Account Verification
    • Account Privacy Settings
    • Account Information

Upload a profile photo

  1. Sign in to Dergh.
  2. Go to your profile.
  3. Click you current profile photo.
  4. Select and upload a new photo.
Notifications

What is the Notifications timeline?

The Notifications timeline offers a simple way to see how others on Dergh are interacting with you.

From the Notifications timeline, you’ll be able to see which of your Posts have been liked, Posts directed to you (notifications and mentions), as well as your new account followers.

You can view your notifications in two ways: NOTIFICATIONS shows you notifications for account activity like new followers, mentions, and likes. MENTIONS shows you notifications only for Posts that mention your username.

Security and Hacked Accounts

If you think you've been hacked and you're unable to log in with your email and password, please take the following two steps:

Request a password reset

Reset your password by clicking the FORGOT YOUR PASSWORD? link and entering your email address in our reset form. Be sure to check for the reset email at the address associated with your account.

If you're able to log in after the password reset, please check if your account has been compromised and re-secure your account.

Privacy

How to protect your profile and posts

  1. Sign in to Dergh.
  2. Go to your profile.
  3. Click the PROFILE SETTINGS button
  4. Scroll down to Account privacy settings, click in Account privacy and you will be able to set:
    • Who can see your profile and posts
    • Who can follow you
    • Who can direct message you
    • If your profile show up in search engines
Sensitive Content

As a policy, we do not mediate content or intervene in disputes between users. However, targeted abuse or harassment may constitute a violation of our Rules and Terms of Service. If you are a victim of targeted abuse or harassment, please contact us at support@dergh.com.

Report abusive behavior

  1. Go to the profile you want to report.
  2. Click the profile's Arrow Menu.
  3. Click Report Abuse.

Safety

  • Violence: You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence.
  • Terrorism/violent extremism: You may not threaten or promote terrorism or violent extremism.
  • Child sexual exploitation: We have zero tolerance for child sexual exploitation.
  • Abuse/harassment: You may not engage in the targeted harassment of someone, or incite other people to do so. This includes wishing or hoping that someone experiences physical harm.
  • Hateful conduct: You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease.
  • Suicide or self-harm: You may not promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.
  • Sensitive media, including graphic violence and adult content: You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within live video or in profile or header images. Media depicting sexual violence and/or assault is also not permitted.
  • Illegal or certain regulated goods or services: You may not use our service for any unlawful purpose or in furtherance of illegal activities. This includes selling, buying, or facilitating transactions in illegal goods or services, as well as certain types of regulated goods or services.

Privacy

  • Private information: You may not publish or post other people's private information (such as home phone number and address) without their express authorization and permission. We also prohibit threatening to expose private information or incentivizing others to do so.
  • Non-consensual nudity: You may not post or share intimate photos or videos of someone that were produced or distributed without their consent.

Authenticity

  • Platform manipulation and spam: You may not use Dergh’s services in a manner intended to artificially amplify or suppress information or engage in behavior that manipulates or disrupts people’s experience on Dergh.
  • Civic Integrity: You may not use Dergh’s services for the purpose of manipulating or interfering in elections or other civic processes. This includes posting or sharing content that may suppress participation or mislead people about when, where, or how to participate in a civic process.
  • Impersonation: You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations in a manner that is intended to or does mislead, confuse, or deceive others.
  • Synthetic and manipulated media: ou may not deceptively share synthetic or manipulated media that are likely to cause harm. In addition, we may label Posts containing synthetic and manipulated media to help people understand their authenticity and to provide additional context.
  • Copyright and trademark: You may not violate others’ intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark.
